Leonardo Designer: Antoni Arola Made of wooded maple strips ribboned around a steel frame, this piece is both delicate and powerful in its volume. Maple trees produce clear wood with suggestive transparencies, showing textures and shades. Maple grain keeps its elasticity and resistance, allowing anyone to shape this lamp as he or she likes. The small 23.6" diameter lamp is composed of thin 4" wide strips while the large 47.25" diameter lamp is made of 8" wide strips. The strips, numbered so that the suggested composition can be assembled, are linked to a nickel-plated frame, similar to a cubic cage, producing a lit strip projecting light in different levels. A white round ceiling rosette links the lamp to the ceiling.
