Popek is British artist Whashisname's iconoclastic squatting version of Jeff Koons' sculpture Balloon Dog, complete with a balloon turd.
The fiberglass sculpture is finished in a brilliant, high gloss pink or orange, and the vibrant color (as well as the artistic statement) of this playful piece makes Popek impossible to miss.

Born in eastern Poland in 1982, today Whathisname lives and works in London, UK. He started creating his first digital art at the age of 7 while using Atari 130 XE. After moving to London in 2006 and having worked as an assistant to well established British artists, he started creating his own work using both digital and traditional mediums.The aim of his art is to express what cannot be expressed with words. He wants to encourage the viewer to look at the surrounding world and question it in a derisive, unorthodox way.
Whatshisnameは1982年ポーランド生まれのアーティスト。現在はロンドンで活動しています。7歳からデジタルアートの制作を始めたという彼は、ロンドンに2006年に移住した後、著名なアーティストのアシスタントして修行を積みました。デジタル的な制作はもちろん、古典的な方法も用い、言葉では表現できない何かをアートとして表現しています。人々に新たな見方、違った見方を促すような思い入れをもって活動しています。
