reDO Chair

reDO chair is a limited edition redefinition of a soon to be extinct icon. The infamous aluminum tube web chairs that society has taken for granted for so long are restored to accentuate their covertly true modern form. A stitched leather silhouette of the once web, new hardwood armrests, and mirror polished frame not only redefines the chair’s physical presence, but also its identity. No longer bound by the outdoors and stereotypes, reDO chair is elevated to kin chairs with roots in Bauhaus modernism.

Limited Edition of 100. All hand signed and numbered with an engraver on the aluminum tube and a signed and embossed authenticity page.

reDo チェアはリミテッドエディションとして制作された、定番のガーデンチェアの再デザインです。アルミチューブのフレームにナイロンのシートを編んであるチェアは、最近まで長い間ガーデンチェアの象徴として存在していました。しかしながら、身の回りに溢れるデザインであるが故、社会的にはデザインとしての評価を得てきませんでした。ナイロンのシートをレザーの編み込みに、プラスチックの肘掛けを木製に、アルミのチューブを鏡面仕上げに変更して、外見のブラッシュアップはもちろん、新たな個性を与えています。これにより野外に放置されることもなく、チェアの価値をバウハウスのモダニズムに通じるものへ昇華させました。
